Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-28
This page lists every cookie, localStorage key, and
sessionStorage key that may be set when you visit
wordgameunscrambler.com,
including those set by third-party services we embed (Google AdSense,
Google Fonts, Cloudflare). For broader privacy context see our
Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies are small text files set by a website (or a third party loaded by it) and stored in your browser. localStorage and sessionStorage are key-value stores that work the same way but don't get sent with every HTTP request. We use all three families of technology.
2. Categories
- Strictly necessary — required for the site to function.
- Functional — remember your preferences and game progress.
- Analytics — let us understand site usage in aggregate.
- Advertising — used by Google AdSense to deliver ads.
3. First-party storage we set
| Key | Type | Category | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
wgu_vid_v2 |
localStorage | Analytics | Anonymous random visitor UUID. Sent with each beacon to the server so visits from the same browser can be counted as one visitor. | Until you clear it |
wgu_stats_v1 |
localStorage | Analytics | Legacy per-device stats (kept for backwards compatibility; no longer actively written). | Until you clear it |
wgu_session_v1 |
sessionStorage | Analytics | Legacy session tracker. May be cleared. | Until tab closed |
wgu_ads_config_v1 |
localStorage | Functional | Stores AdSense slot configuration the admin entered on the dashboard. | Until cleared |
wu_daily_streak |
localStorage | Functional | Your current consecutive-day Daily Puzzle streak. | Until cleared |
wu_daily_last |
localStorage | Functional | The last date you solved the Daily Puzzle (for streak calculation). | Until cleared |
wu_daily_total |
localStorage | Functional | Lifetime count of Daily Puzzles you've solved. | Until cleared |
wu_daily_solved_YYYY-MM-DD |
localStorage | Functional | A per-date flag marking that you solved a given day's puzzle. | Until cleared |
